The story

Made by a creator, for creators.

Subtitl started on a real editing timeline, not a spreadsheet. As a creator, captioning meant bouncing footage into a separate app, waiting on an upload, fixing the same Hinglish mistakes every single time, then re-importing text that was never really editable.

So it got built the other way around: a plugin that lives where the edit already happens, runs entirely on your own machine, and hands back real text layers you can touch.

Subtitl is in a private beta. Request an invite and once you're approved we'll email you a link to set up your account and download it.
No. Transcription runs entirely on your own machine, so your footage and voice are never uploaded to us or anyone else. The only time anything from your work reaches us is if you choose to attach a screenshot to a bug report.
Hinglish, Hindi and English each have their own dedicated model. One World Languages pack adds 80 languages, including Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Chinese, Bengali, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. It uses one general model, so accuracy varies more from language to language. Mixed Hindi-English speech (the way most creators actually talk) is handled as Hinglish, written in English letters; Hindi is written in Devanagari. Each pack downloads once, then transcription runs fully offline.
Subtitl is available now as a panel in After Effects 2022 (22.0) or newer and Premiere Pro 2023 (23.0) or newer.
Beta access covers one computer to start with. If you need it on another, deactivate the old one from your account any time, or just ask us.
Yes. Beta access is free while we shape Subtitl with our testers. All we ask is that you tell us what works, what doesn't and what you'd change.
